Robert (Bob) Benjamin Ferree was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1935, in Enterprise, Oregon, to Anna and George Ferree. He passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 86, doing what he loved, puttering with his cars.
Bob grew up in Baker City, Oregon, where he attended school and participated in many sports and activities. He eventually met his wife, Nancy Dougherty, and they married on September 25, 1954. In 1957 they moved to Richland, Oregon, where Bob went to work for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). In 1964 he transferred to Baker City, OR with ODOT, where he worked for the next 36 years. He retired from ODOT in June of 1993.
Bob had a passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. He was a member of the Baker Elks Lodge for 48 years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy Ferree, of Baker City, OR. Children, Pam Dugan and partner, Ken Martin, of Meridian, Idaho, Rob Ferree and wife, Joni Warren, of Battle Ground, Washington. Grandchildren, Eric Dugan and wife Lisa, of Kuna, ID, Kim Riggs and husband Derek, of Meridian, ID, Daniel Ferree, and wife Tanna, of Baker City, OR. Six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ellen Kay Ferree; father, George Ferree; mother, Anna Ferree; brothers, Albert Ferree and Elmer Ferree and sister, Annabelle Barnes.
