Ruby was born October 23, 1943, in Kansas City, MO to Glen and Mary McClard.  She grew up in Kansas City & Cape Girardeau, MO where her father owned and operated radio & TV repair shops.  Ruby was preceded in death by her father and mother and four brothers, three of whom died before they were three years old.

Ruby met her husband, Edward Stoaks, in January of 1961 and they were married in August of that year.  They were happily married just 26 days short of 57 years. Together, they raised four children, Paul, David, Carolyn, and Curtis.

Ruby was active in her church and was loved by those in the nursing home that her husband, Edward ministered to.  Ruby was a student of the Bible and loved to read. When her children were young, she was a 4-H club leader and taught leatherworking.  Later she bought a stretch limousine and founded Baker Valley Limousine which she operated for 10 years. She thoroughly enjoyed carrying her clients on their special occasions and made many friends in the region.  Ruby enjoyed sewing and making quilts and scarves for family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her husband and four children.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Ruby to the Northeast Oregon Compassion Center through Coles Tribute Center at 1950 Place St., Baker City, OR  97814.
