Charles Swinyer, 81, of Baker City, Oregon passed away at his residence on December 10, 2018. A celebration of life will be held at Coles Tribute Center on December 18, 2018 beginning at 2:00 PM. Following the celebration, a reception will be held at Coles Tribute Center.
Charles Marvin Swinyer was born on September 30, 1937 in Baker, Oregon to Harry Clayton and Norma Aileen (Coalwell) Swinyer. He attended and graduated from Baker High School. In 1984, Charles married LaVesta Mae Horton. He was a jack of all trades. He drove semis, did machinery, he did body and fender work for Baker Garage for 20 years, then he worked for Baker County as a foreman on the crusher until he retired.
Charles enjoyed camping, hunting, being around friends and family and playing pranks on everyone.
He is survived by his son, David of Walla Walla, Washington; daughter, Aileen of Baker City, Oregon; daughter, Kelly of Seattle, Washington; grandson, Jeremy who is overseas; grandson, Justin of Seattle, Washington; granddaughter, Kandace of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter, Krista of California; brother, Carl Swinyer and his wife, Dee of Sumpter, Oregon; niece, Debbie of Baker City, Oregon and nephew, Gordon of Baker City, Oregon. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Aileen Swinyer; wife, LaVesta Swinyer; and son, Curtiss Elvin.
