Bryan "Pete" Cholly Peterson, age 73 died May 14, 2018 at his home in Baker City, Oregon.

Celebration of Life services will be held June 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Coles Tribute Center, 1950 Place Street, Baker City, Oregon.

Pete was born on November 21, 1944, in Springfield, Massachusetts to parents Cholly and Mary Bryan Peterson. He graduated from Munson High School in 1962. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Baker, Oregon where he met his wife, Charlene Tyler. They were married in 1964 and shared 53 beautiful years together. They raised two sons and one daughter together in Halfway, Oregon. Pete was an amazing father who seemed to have a special talent where he could make any situation seem like a good time. He never missed a chance to have fun boating, snowmobiling, or just playing with his kids. Even though he worked extremely long hours as a logger, his family was always his top priority. He was also an amazing Papa to six grandkids. He spent countless hours enjoying each one of them. At any given time, you could find him playing Nintendo, cards, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, or golf with one of his grandkids. He was a bit competitive by nature so the kids knew that if they ever beat him in anything, they earned it!

He took great pride in being a loving husband to his wife, Charlene. They enjoyed camping on the coast, traveling, donating to local casinos, and attending various activities of their grandkids'. When he retired from logging in 2007 he returned to his favorite pastime of golf.

He will be remembered as an all-around great husband and a fun-loving father and Papa who gave of himself unselfishly. He brought an incredible amount of joy and happiness into the lives of his family.

Pete is survived by his wife Charlene Peterson of Baker City, Oregon; his sons, Ron Peterson of Baker City, Oregon, William Peterson of Halfway Oregon; his daughter, Sandy Mills and son-in-law, Mike Mills of Imbler, Oregon; six grandchildren: Cody Peterson, Landon Peterson, Kristi Peterson, CJ Peterson, Bryan Mills and Malia Mills; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ina Hastie of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne/Louise Tyler and Wanda Steele of Halfway, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Pete's memory may direct them to Heart "N" Home Hospice through Coles Tribute Center, 1950 Place St.  Baker City, OR 97814.
