Lloyd R. Cook, 93 a resident of Baker city died Monday October 9, 2017 at his home.  At his request there will be no service, inurment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Cook was born in Leon, Kansas April 15, 1924, a son of Bill & Grace Cook.  The family left Kansas moved to Halfway, OR where he received his schooling.  After completing his education, he joined the US Navy.  He was stationed in California and met his wife Iona, they were married in 1944.  After his discharge from the Navy, they moved to Baker City, OR. 

Mr. Cook had been a police officer and after that a Sheriff for a short time, they then moved to Western Oregon and he went to work for Textronic where he remained until he retired.  He and Iona moved back to Baker City, OR 12 years ago.

He is survived by a son and was preceded in death by a son, daughter, grandchild and 4 brothers and 4 sister.
